Hello, my name is Cintia Centeio and I live in Massachusetts with my husband and two boys. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Information Systems from UMass Boston, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Southern New Hampshire University. I’ve been a nurse for two decades and absolutely love everything about it.
I truly enjoy interacting with people, learning, teaching, and making a difference in my patients’ lives. For the past 5 years, I’ve been focusing on community health and in the last year, I launched my Adult Foster Care company- All About You AFC- a business built and run by nurses where compassion and individualized care are at the core of what we do. I love the all-encompassing aspect of case management because I work one-on-one with my patients and manage several dimensions of wellness including their physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual health. I’m also very passionate about helping women, especially single moms, become their best selves in every aspect of their lives. I love to see women making strides and setting positive examples for the generations to come. I love learning and teaching. My plan is to obtain my MSN in the near future and become a teacher in some capacity for the next generation of nurses.

In my spare time, I truly enjoy spending time with my family. I come from a big family so there is never a dull moment when we are all together. Aside from family time, I enjoy boxing, reading, karaoke, and dancing until the music stops. My children are my true inspiration in wanting more out of life.
My children shifted my view on life and inspired me to want more out of the time granted to us. I aspire to grow in ways that allow me more time with my children for us to make endless memories. I am in a nonprofit because I truly have a passion for helping others. I find great joy in spreading knowledge and resources and raising awareness while fundraising for a cause. If I was to say one quirky thing about myself, it would have to be that I graduated from UMASS Dartmouth with an Accounting degree, where I have worked in my field for the last 10 years. I also went to UMASS Lowell where I completed more credits to sit for my CPA exam, which I eventually decided to not take. While completing more credits at UMASS Lowell I completed a Paralegal certificate. Aside from my children, my biggest accomplishment at this moment would have to be my company Mamastay. I started a business for moms to help alleviate the stressors of motherhood. Mamastay is currently working on expanding our services and opening a Postpartum resort for moms!

Born and raised in Mandeville, Jamaica, I immigrated to America in my early 20s and embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. Currently, I manage a Jamaican restaurant while pursuing my passion as a chef. Outside of work, I find solace in nature. Coming from a challenging background, raised by a single mother, I understand the struggles faced by many families.
A family friend who I looked up to as a father played a pivotal role in shaping my values and resilience. Inspired by my upbringing, I am committed to supporting single mothers and giving back to my community. Despite my culinary expertise, I often find myself indecisive about what to eat. With a diverse skill set including training in electrical engineering and automotive technology, I strive to make a positive impact as a non-profit board member.

As a non-profit board member, I'm passionate about serving my community. In my spare time, I enjoy immersing myself in books, taking leisurely walks, exploring new destinations through travel, and energizing myself with salsa dancing. I find inspiration in embracing each day to its fullest.
My commitment to non-profit work stems from my desire to actively address the needs and aspirations of our community and to give back in meaningful ways. My guiding light and hero is my mom, whose unwavering support and compassion have shaped my journey. On a lighter note, I bring a touch of sarcastic humor to the table. Professionally, my background in healthcare, particularly in social work, has equipped me with a deep understanding of community services and a wealth of experience in navigating complex systems to advocate for those in need.
